STORY TRANSLATIONS

 The Korean Story Bag is an old tale that tells us that stories are meant to be shared.  A young prince loved stories and collected them.  Instead of sharing the stories, he placed each tale he heard into a bag that he kept in his room.  Over time the stories became resentful at being locked away in a bag.  They wanted to be shared with others.  Through the years, the stories planned plots of vengeance against the prince.  They would have their revenge for being hidden away instead of being shared.  The stories pledged to harm the prince on his wedding day.  Only the loyalty of  an aging servant saved the life of the prince and his new bride from the terribly plots dreamed up by the stories.  From that day on, all stories heard by the prince or anyone in his kingdom were shared with everyone that wanted to hear them.

My name is Dr. Mike Lockett. I am an educator, a children's author and a storyteller.  I love stories and feel the need to share them.  It is for this reason that I placed stories that I have crafted for retelling on my website where you may read them and share them with others.  I travel widely and share stories with individuals in cultures different than my own.  Friends and colleagues in various cultures have helped me to translate part of my stories into languages other than English.  I have made an attempt to place these stories on my website for others to read and enjoy.

Do you read and write in a language other than English?  Are you interested in helping to translate stories from my website into another language?  If you are , place the translated story into a MS Word Document (not a PDF).  Add the word document as an attachment to an email to mike@mikelockett.com.  I will use a primitive translation program to view the document prior to placing it on my website.  Many school school children visit my site.  I need to verify that all materials I use are free from offensive language and harmful content.  I will credit individuals for all translations that I use.
