Storyteller Goes International

Published December 19, 2006

Dr. Mike Lockett has been a teller of tales for most of his adult life.  Now retired from a satisfying career in public education, he works full time as a storyteller.  Though he calls himself "The Normal Storyteller," there is nothing NORMAL about his stories.  On top of this - he is no longer even CLOSE to NORMAL while telling tales.  Normal, Illinois... that is!

Dr. Lockett has gone global.  In past years, Dr. Lockett has performed in Toronto Canada, San Antonio, Texas, Orlando, FLorida, Chicago, Illinois and Atlanta Georgia with during International Reading Association Conferences.  Now, he will be performing in Taipei, Taiwan in January, at the Taipei Book Fair.

A program for Options Publishing Company at the International Reading Association in Chicago in 2006 introduced Dr. Lockett to a new associate, Mr. Jerome Su from Taiwan.  Su has arranged for several performances by The Normal Storyteller from January 28 - 31, 2007.

Other major presentations for Lockett will be at the Equip Christian Ministries Conference in February, at the New England Storytelling - Sharing the Fire Conference in March, at the Rock Island Storytelling Festival in Illinois in April at the National Christian Storytelling Network Conference in Illinois in June and at the National Storytelling Conference in St. Louis in July.  These programs are all in addition to Dr. Lockett's regular schedule of storytelling programs.

So - The Normal Storyteller will be sharing his not-so-normal stories at locations that are Far From Normal.  Keep checking this website to see if one of the progrms is in your area.  Write to Dr. Lockett at mike@mikelockett.com if you wish to talk about hosting a storytelling program for your school, library, church or organization.
