Fun at Fall Festival

Published October 4, 2004

Dr. Mike Lockett, The Normal Storyteller, added a new treat to Niepegan's fall festival on October 2nd and 3rd.  The nursery had everything from live music and storytelling to pumpkin weighing contests and "build your own scarecrows."

The idea of a fall festival came about when Ann Niepegan tried to find a way to let customers know that the nursery is open year-round.  Fall mums, bright Halloween decorations, craft booths, guitar music and a storyteller gave visitors plenty to do as they strolled the grounds.  Lockett told stories and played his Appalachian Mountain dulcimer for children and adults who elected to sit and rest on hay bales in front of the Niepegan's gazebo.  The Normal Storyteller gave three programs during the crisp fall weekend.

If you visit Niepegan's, you can hear part of the stories you missed by buying one of Lockett's storytelling CD's.
